A clear trend between HADS scores and the number of HAE attacks was not observed, although proportions of participants with severe anxiety and depression were higher in the subgroup of participants who reported ≥ 13 versus fewer attacks in the past 6 months, in agreement with previous surveys [ 14 , 16 ].
