Conclusion Our study once again observed a decreasing trend in the incidence of diabetes in IAD compared with IS and ICH, which provided further data support for the existence of this phenomenon, but the potential mechanism of this phenomenon remains to be further explored.

In terms of the age of patients with onset of disease, both the sIAD group and the non-IAD IS group showed a trend toward younger age relative to the ICH group, yet the sIAD group did not show heterogeneity in ORs compared to the non-IAD IS group in terms of age, as has been found in previous large-scale studies [ 20 , 25 ], which may be related to the small size of our sample.
