Hyperlipoproteinemia was less frequently observed in patients with symptomatic TMJ-IDs (25%) than in the control group (46.5%), ( p = 0.0116, Yates’ correction; p = 0.0054, Fisher’s exact test), while in those with asymptomatic TMJ-IDs (44%) it was significantly lower using Fisher’s exact test ( p = 0.0266), but this was only marginally significant ( p = 0.0530) according to Yates’ correction.
