This finding demonstrates a clear trend in bone loss over time. 34 Additionally, comprehensive reviews and registry analyses have validated that bone mass generally diminishes with prolonged RA duration, even with advanced DMARD therapy, and that the risk escalates over several years. 35 Moreover, prolonged disease duration is an independent predictor of osteoporotic fractures in patients with RA, as indicated by a community-based cohort study in Sweden (n=1,928).
