In contrast, a prospective randomized controlled interventional trial involving 450 women with GDM and postpartum IGT reported that fewer women in the lifestyle intervention group developed postpartum diabetes over a 3-year follow-up period compared with the control group; however, this difference did not reach statistical significance (15% vs. 19%) [ 63 ].
