A recent meta-analysis looking at the use of direct oral anticoagulants (DOAC) versus Vitamin K antagonists (VKA) for patients with APS concluded that DOACs were associated with a much higher risk of arterial thrombosis, especially in triple-positive APS, and trending towards significance for that finding across other subgroups, including non-triple-positive APS [ 11 ].
