Although the difference between the correlations for internally and externally oriented details did not reach statistical significance ( t (123) = 1.89, p = 0.061, 95% CI = [−0.01, 0.41], Cohen’s q = 0.21), the positive correlation for internally oriented details suggests that consistent and precise retention of internal experiences may help buffer against the general decline in perceived importance over time.
