The mean total tear protein concentration was numerically higher in cats with conjunctivitis (13.06 ± 0.75 mg/mL) than in healthy cats (9.69 ± 0.67 mg/mL); however, this difference did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.095) and should be interpreted cautiously given the limited sample size.
