The TS1 pain intensity was significantly different (Kruskal–Wallis test, p = 0.02) between healthy controls and nonresponders ( p = 0.04) and nearing significance between healthy controls and responders ( p = 0.052) but not significantly different between responders and nonresponders ( p > 0.099).
Our key findings were (a) Quality of life was significantly more improved in SCS responders than nonresponders, (b) SCS nonresponders had significantly abnormally inefficient CPM and a strong trend towards abnormally low sgACC PAF, (c) higher PAF power significantly correlated with a lower degree of pain relief in the ANP and SN and (d) whole group correlations between pain relief and PAF power may be driven in the ANP by males and in the SN by females.
