One study employed amniotic-derived pluripotent cells for intravenous therapy in cats with chronic kidney disease (CKD), resulting in a significant decrease in serum creatinine ( p = 0.028), a reduction in the urine protein-to-creatinine ratio ( p = 0.131), and clinically relevant improvement in urine specific gravity, although the latter did not reach statistical significance ( 30 ).
