In our study, the mixed condition (M), fixation on the central target while the cartoon played, is particularly informative: although the effects did not reach statistical significance, the trend toward shorter peak times and reduced amplitude supports the idea that attentional engagement contributes modestly, even in the absence of strong adaptation disruption.
