Although the differences between the irradiated groups and their corresponding treatment groups did not reach statistical significance, the magnitude of change was considerable, as reflected by the large effect size in the acute irradiation model (Cohen’s d = 1.80) and in the fractionated irradiation model (Cohen’s d = 1.74), indicating a substantial improvement in the treated animals.
