However, under stress conditions, the pain and clinical instability group exhibited a greater mean absolute joint opening distance (5.6 ± 2.8 mm) compared to the pain and no clinical instability (4.1 ± 1.6 mm) and no pain and no clinical instability (3.7 ± 0.6 mm) groups, though this difference did not reach statistical significance ( P = .053).
