Additionally, we observed a prominent cumulative modulation effect: theta suppression following the final train was significantly greater than that following the 1st, 3rd, and 4th trains (1st: t (17) = 6.16, p FDR = 1.06e − 04, 95% CI = [1.40, 2.86], Cohen’s d = 1.38, 1− β > 0.99; 3rd: t (17) = 2.95, p FDR = 0.030, 95% CI = [0.74, 4.50], Cohen’s d = 0.66, 1− β = 0.79; 4th: t (17) = 4.91, p FDR = 6.50e−04, 95% CI = [1.38, 3.44], Cohen’s d = 1.10, 1− β > 0.99), and showed a trend of stronger level than the 2nd train ( t (17) = 1.94, p FDR = 0.14) (Fig. 5C ).
