Two exceptions were interventions conducted in Thailand (2 studies, SMD = 1.51, 95% CI : −2.80 to 5.82, P = 0.492) and those with a duration of ≥ 12 months (6 studies, SMD = 0.41, 95% CI : −0.51 to 1.32, P = 0.386), where the effects did not reach statistical significance.
