On the other hand, 20% ( n = 24) perceived the contribution as moderately significant, while a smaller proportion, 5% ( n = 6), regarded manganese's economic contribution as insignificant. 3.3 Long-term economic viability of current manganese mining practices The survey results ( Fig. 5 ) show that perceptions of the long-term economic viability of manganese mining practices are largely positive.
