Stratified analysis by age group revealed that the protective association of resistance exercise was most pronounced in the 60–69 age group (OR 0.28, 95% CI 0.11–0.74, p = 0.010), with similar trends observed in the 40–59 (OR 0.52, 95% CI 0.15–1.83, p = 0.305) and ≥70 age groups (OR 0.48, 95% CI 0.19–1.24, p = 0.130), although these estimates did not reach statistical significance and confidence intervals crossed unity.
