For the secondary outcome of an adjudicated diagnosis of bacterial infection, calprotectin levels were higher in bacterial infection compared to non-bacterial infection; however, the difference did not reach statistical significance (3.01 mg/L, IQR 1.85–5.26 vs 2.27 mg/L, IQR 1.49–3.88, p = 0.063).
