The significant change following the intervention in the Heteronormative beliefs: essential, binary sex and gender scale was driven by a significant reduction in these attitudes by straight students, with a nonsignificant trend in the same direction for LGBTQIA+ students, many of whom started with very low scores on this scale to begin with.
