Results Clinical data Perinatal and postnatal clinical factors obtained from the medical records of the participants in the study show that some of these characteristics (type of childbirth; skin-to-skin contact, hospitalization at birth, and incubator required) did not show a clear trend that allows establishing a relationship between the factors measured and BMI, even so, we were able to observe that only 20% of normal-weight children had premature gestation, of the 80% who were born full term, 84.9% had optimal birth weights (2.5–4 kg), as detailed in Table 1 .
