These relationships varied among the independent variables: On PC1, which is dominated by soil factors (soil texture, soil moisture, soil organic matter) and topographic factors (slope aspect, slope degree), and on PC1 and PC4, which are dominated by geomorphic factors, pika population density showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing.
