Compared with the main analysis, the sensitivity analysis by surgical specialty subgroups revealed robust findings indicating a higher risk associated with the first operation of the day performed by the surgeon for digestive and endocrine surgery, as well as a nonsignificant trend for the combined group of orthopedic, urological, and gynecologic surgery.
