This study found that although the multiplicative interaction between TyG and WHtR ( P = 0.065) and the additive interaction (RERI = 0.334, 95%CI : -0.170–0.837) did not reach statistical significance, the concurrent elevation of both indices (high TyG + high WHtR) was significantly associated with an increased risk of renal function decline ( OR = 1.666, 95%CI : 1.197–2.319), whereas an increase in either index alone did not significantly elevate the risk.
