This difference was statistically significant only in the pediatric subgroup (14.9±3.6 children with LC versus 12.1±3.1 mm Hg children without LC, P =0.005), but there was a trend toward significance in adults (14.6±4.0 adults with LC versus 13.1±3.9 mm Hg adults without LC, P =0.07).
Pundi et al showed a trend of increased mortality among those who had their Fontan operation at 5 to 16 years when compared with those at 2 to 4 years of age. 2 Fontan completion after 6 years old has also been associated with increased rates of PLE and mortality. 37 In our study, adults with LC had their Fontan operation at 6.8 years of age whereas those without LC had their operation at 4.3 years, which aligns with prior reports.
