To assess whether the two nominally significant IUGR-group correlations were independent of baseline confounders, exploratory multivariable linear regression models were fitted within the IUGR group with birth weight percentile as the dependent variable and SHBG as the predictor of interest, and with AC percentile as the dependent variable and total testosterone as the predictor of interest; both models were adjusted for maternal age, systolic blood pressure, and sampling time.
