Analysis according to cardiogenic shock etiology indicated that studies focusing on acute myocardial infarction demonstrated moderately higher effect sizes (SMD = 0.82, 95% CI: 0.48–1.16, I 2 = 70%) than those including myocarditis (SMD = 0.65, 95% CI: 0.28–1.02, I 2 = 68%) or post-cardiotomy populations (SMD = 0.58, 95% CI: 0.24–0.92, I 2 = 54%), although the interaction test did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.42).
