After grouping HbA1c into quartiles, participants in the highest quartile (Q4: HbA1c = 6.2% ± 0.9%) had a significantly higher risk of periodontitis compared to those in the lowest quartile (Q1: HbA1c = 5.0% ± 0.2%) in the fully adjusted model (OR = 1.43, 95% CI: 1.05–1.97, P = .027), with a significant trend across quartiles (P for trend = 0.037).
