Blastocyst formation followed similar trends but did not reach statistical significance ( Figure 6F ), suggesting that the primary defect lies in oocyte quality rather than post-fertilization development, a pattern also seen in human obesity-related subfertility. 105 , 106 These findings show that dietary fiber protects against high-fat diet-induced impairments in oocyte quality and early embryo competence by normalizing transcriptional pathways involved in inflammation, mitochondrial function, and oxidative stress response.
