The results showed that our “control” group had significantly smaller particles in their IS samples, displayed an inflammatory pattern as indicated by a higher percentage of eosinophils in sputum and their FEV1/FVC values had a significant trend for lower ratios for obstructive and not restrictive disease as we had originally expected.
