In an update of the trial, investigators reported that radiation showed a statistically significant (46%) reduction in risk of recurrence and a statistically significant reduction in risk of progression or death (HR = 0.58, 90% CI = 0.40 to 0.85, p = 0.009) although the improvement in overall survival (p = 0.074) with radiation did not reach statistical significance [ 20 ].

The sentences
The overall results show a highly significant benefit of this modality as compared to radiation alone, with a 36% reduction in the risk of death, which is equivalent to an absolute improvement in survival of 15% (8%–21%) at five years, increasing the survival from 45% to 60%.
