Despite the minor populations of the soluble aggregates, a clear trend was observed in all samples studied (from three different protein batches): the numerical ratios between the larger and the smaller species are of about 1 to 140000±35000 and of 1 to 32000±8000, which correspond to ca. 3% and 11% of the total populations by mass of GST-Q22 and GST-Q41, respectively, suggesting that the relative populations of the soluble aggregates correlate with the length of the polyQ tract.
