Follow-up within-group t-tests showed a higher number of errors for the RI in comparison with the SI condition in all children (6–7 group, t (17) = 3.2, p = .01, d = .75; 8–9 group, t (18) = 4.8, p < .0005, d = 1.1; 10–12 group, t (16) = 4.4, p < .0005, d = 1.1), but in adults this effect only approached significance ( t (20) = 1.9, p = .07, d = .41).
