As Child-Pugh class was categorized into binary variable: Child-Pugh class A versus advanced Child-Pugh class (Child-Pugh class B or C), the prevalence of all varices in patients with Child-Pugh class A was lower than that in patients with advanced Child-Pugh class (67% versus 77%), which, however, did not reach statistical significance ( P = 0.25).
