There was a significant reduction in risk of type 2 diabetes among women who had a family history of diabetes (RR 0.77 [95% CI 0.60–0.99]; P = 0.04) but not among those who had no such family history (1.09 [0.85–1.41]; P = 0.49), and the interaction was marginally significant ( P = 0.06).
