Analysis of individual patients following treatment with imatinib showed a clear trend; those with low or undetectable levels of CCN3 at diagnosis were more likely to achieve a 3 log reduction within 6 months (optimal response), whilst those with higher levels of expression had a sub-optimal response to imatinib treatment (data not shown).
