Although the improvement in overall survival did not reach statistical significance ( P =0.06) in the previous report ( Oettle et al , 2007 ), the new CONKO-001 report showed a significant difference in overall survival between the gemcitabine and surgery-only groups after long-term observation (median overall survival, 22.3 months versus 20.2 months; 5-year survival rate, 21.0% versus 9.0%; P =0.005).
