The overall model was highly significant [ F (1,28) = 6.31, P = 0.005], and there were significant main effects of both age and HDRS score, indicating that both of these factors made significant independent contributions to hippocampal size.
However, MDD patients who had previously been treated with atypical antipsychotics showed a trend toward larger hippocampi than MDD patients who were antipsychotic-naïve (permutation-corrected P values: left, P = 0.06; right, P = 0.07; see Supplementary Figure S1 at http://www.asnneuro.org/an/001/an001e020add.htm ).
