Genetic variation at the FTO locus influences RBL2 gene expression.

We observed a nominally significant linkage signal for RBL2 expression (logarithm of odds [LOD] score = 0.997, P = 0.016; n = 1,240) but not FTO expression directly at the RBL2-FTO locus ( Fig. 2 ), indicating that only RBL2 expression is likely to be affected by genetic variation in this region.
