The regression coefficient relating hazard to daily sleep amount, averaged across the first 2 or 4 weeks of age, was negative and highly significant in Hk 1 and Hk Y mutants but not in Hk 2 mutants (Table 1A ), and similar results were also found in wild-type siblings of the same fly lines (Table 1B ).
