When analyzing 4 of the significant EGF SNPs in a larger confirmation set of 638 glioblastoma, we saw the same trend with minor allele association to shorter survival, but the results were only marginally significant when analyzing patients older than 50, which was performed to adjust for the discrepancies in age of the first and second data sets.
