Higher apoE levels were also associated with increased Th1 cytokine secretion, as the serum cytokine profile showed a trend towards greater Th1 cytokine concentrations (TNF, IL1- β , and IFN- γ ) in septic, induced mice compared to septic, noninduced (low apoE) mice [unpublished data].
