In addition, when all people who had a BML at either baseline or follow-up (n = 33) were grouped and compared with those who had never had a BML (n = 115), we found that the difference in BMI between the two groups approached significance with a trend of P = 0.09 (BML group: mean 28.8 mmol/L, SD 6.3; no BML group: mean 26.9 mmol/L, SD 5.4), but there was no difference in age or gender.
