A reduced risk for hypertension was most pronounced in the T2 (380.5- < 572.6 mg/day, multivariate OR = 0.43, 95% CI: 0.21-0.88) and T3 tertiles of calcium (≥ 572.6 mg/day, multivariate OR = 0.43, 95% CI: 0.20-0.90) with a significant trend in risk ( P for trend = 0.040).
