When haplotype frequencies were compared between female SLE patients and healthy controls, tendencies for an increase of haplotype 3 containing all of the SLE risk alleles and a decrease of haplotype 2 containing none of them were observed, although the differences did not reach statistical significance (permutation P , haplotype 3 = 0.081; permutation P , haplotype 2 = 0.068).
