A recent study of 246 biopsy-proven NAFLD patients from Hong Kong and France suggested decreasing ability to successfully obtain liver stiffness measurements (LSM) with increasing BMI; measurement was 97% successful with BMI < 30 kg/m 2 , dropping to only 75% in obese patients, though this did not reach statistical significance [ 23 ].
