Although the overall and pairwise comparisons among 4 study arms did not reach statistical significance (due to the Bonferroni correction for multiple comparison; p ≤0.017 was considered statistically significant in the pairwise comparision), the diet+exercise group reduced depression (Δ Diet+Exercise = -1.7 points, p = 0.03; vs. control Δ Control = 0.7 points) and increased social support (Δ Diet+Exercise = 1.0 points, p = 0.05; vs. control Δ Control = -2.8 points).
