Finally, in a registry study and a prospective cohort study looking at association of stress caused by exposure to the Holocaust or to the siege of Leningrad with breast cancer risk or mortality, respectively, stress among women younger than 18 years old was found to be associated with the highest risk and mortality of breast cancer (although the association in the Leningrad study did not reach statistical significance) [ 30 , 31 ].
