When patients were classified according to prior experience with a BDMARD, a clear trend in clinical responses was observed: patients naïve to BDMARD therapy typically demonstrated greater clinical effectiveness when compared with patients who had experienced prior BDMARD therapy, despite comparable baseline disease characteristics (data not shown).
