Statistically, the increasing levels of clinical severity in the asthmatic patients under study were significantly correlated to the number of indoor allergens yielding positive skin test reactivity (sensitization) (R = 0.3, p < .001) and to the degree of skin test reactivity (ie, wheal size) to Dp ( df = 16, p < .001) and Df ( df = 17, p < .01) but did not reach statistical significance in the cases of cat ( df = 10, p < .24) and cockroach ( df = 8, p < .36) allergens.
