Suicide rates in males in both the age-bands were significantly correlated with the percentage of children under the age of 5 years who were under weight (negative) and the percentage of children under the age of 5 years who were under height (negative); in females this relationship was significant in the 65-74 year age-band, and only approached significance in females aged 75+ years.
